Scorpions look to maintain momentum in Regional Super50

The Jamaica Scorpions will have momentum heading into their return match against the Barbados Pride on Sunday after recording their third straight win of the ongoing regional Super50 tournament, beating Canada by three wickets at the Conaree Sports Club on Monday.

It was Canada who batted first and posted 243-9. Harsh Thaker top-scored for the Canadians with 60 while Nitish Kumar made 42. Rayyan Pathan 33 and Jeet Mehta 32 also got among the runs against Dennis Bulli 4-41 and Oshane Thomas 2-38.

In reply, the Scorpions found themselves in trouble early, reaching 102-4. However, Nkrumah Bonner with an unbeaten 73 and captain Rovman Powell 38, guided the Jamaican franchise to victory at 246-7. Andre McCarthy also chipped in with 40, while Jermaine Blackwood made 30. Rayyan Pathan took 2-33 for Canada.
