Scorpions take control against Hurricanes

The Jamaica Scorpions reduced the Leeward Islands Hurricanes to 60-4 at stumps in their first innings reply on day one of their penultimate regional Professional League 4-day match at Sabina Park. Damion Jacobs has so far bagged three wickets. Earlier, the Scorpions were bowled out for 197 in their first innings.
         
West Indies representative Jermaine Blackwood top-scored with 81. Sheeno Berridge took 4-46, Chaim Holder 3-50 and Jeremiah Louis 3-62. The Scorpions are currently lying 5th on the 6 team table with 75.8 points with one round of matches to go.

In other regional matches, champions Guyana Jaguars were 184-5 at stumps in their 9th round contest against the Barbados Pride at Queen's Park Oval. Veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul was not out on 2 at the close for the Jaguars. Chanderpaul Hemraj has top-scored so far with 90 while captain Leon Johnson made 52. Kemar Roach has taken 2-22 so far. 

Elsewhere, the Windward Islands Volcanoes were going strongly at 268-4 against the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force. Kavem Hodge with an unbeaten 87 and Kyle Mayers 73 not out, were the batsmen at the crease. Devon Smith also made 46.
