"Shot Gun" scores century against Scorpions in regional competition

The Windward Islands Volcanoes reached 263-6 at stumps on day one against the Jamaica Scorpions in their Cricket West Indies regional four day competition in Grenada. After being sent into bat, Devon Smith led the way with 124. Dennis Bulli took his second five wicket haul of his first class career as he ended the way with figures of 5-94. The Jamaica Scorpions are searching for their first win of the competition.

In other matches across the region, the Leeward Islands Hurricanes reached 57-3 at stumps on day one in reply to Guyana Jaguars' 196 all out at the Providence Stadium. They trail by 139 runs. Earlier, Christopher Barnwell top-scored with 58 while captain Leon Johnson made 44 for the Jaguars. Jamaican Damion Jacobs took 3-15 and Rahkeem Cornwall 4-70.

Over in Trinidad, the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force were 170-9 after electing to bat against the Barbados Pride.
