Simms quits as coach of struggling RSPL side Molynes United

Former coach of Molynes United Lijaysu Simms

The Red Stripe Premier League has seen its third coaching casualty as former head coach of Molynes United Lijaysu Simms has parted ways with the promoted team. Simms who guided the team to the top flight and won their first six games, confirmed news of his resignation with RJR Sports on Thursday following the team's 1-0 defeat to Harbour View on Wednesday.

Speaking on Hitz 92 FMs Sports Grill, Simms said his resignation stemmed from his stern approach to block out interference from chairman Eurado Cornwall. I’m not a yes man. He wants to coach, he wants to manage, he wants to do everything and I wouldn’t allow that,” revealed Simms.

Simms added that he has gone unpaid in his role for the last two months since the departure of the club's previous owner. The former Maverley Hughenden coach believes the structure of the club has disintegrated since the first seven games of the season which saw the promoted team being unbeaten.
