Tallawahs beat Amazon Warriors to maintain winning streak in CPL

Defending champions Jamaica Tallawahs recorded their fourth victory from five games at the 2017 Hero CPL T-20 tournament on Thursday night following their 2 run victory over Guyana Amazon Warriors in a tense affair at Providence in Guyana.

The Tallawahs made 128 all out in their 50 overs with Glenn Phillps topscoring with 51 while Lendl Simmons and Jonathan Foo each made 20. There were two wickets each for Reyad Emrit, Rashid Khan and Steven Jacobs. The Amazon Warriors who were set 129 to win, were restricted to 126-4.

Chadwick Walton led the way with 37 while Martin Guptil got 33 and Jason Mohammed 24. Medium pacer Kesrick Williams did most of the damage, claiming 3-30 while Gary Mathurin returned 1-29.

The Tallawahs are now second in the table on 8 points from 5 matches, two behind the Trinbago Knight Riders.
