"The Electric Slide?" - Reggae Boyz slip again in FIFA ranking

The Jamaica Football Federation could soon find it difficult to secure friendly games against top ranked opponents, due to the continuous slide of the senior men’s team in the FIFA rankings.

The national team – The Reggae Boyz - is now three places away from being ranked at its lowest since 2008 on the FIFA list, after falling to 113 in the latest publication. This represented a fall of 13 places for the Winfried Schafer coached team, which suffered defeats to Canada and Japan since the last rankings were published in September.

The Jamaicans are also down to a new low of 14th in the CONCACAF Region, which sees Costa Rica, ranked 16th in the world, taking over the number one spot.

Mexico, at 17, USA, at 23, Trinidad &  Tobago, 49, and panama, at number 56, round out the top five team in CONCACAF.

Germany, the World Champions, continues to be the world number one team, followed by Argentina, Colombia, Belgium and The Netherlands.
