Thompson headlines Jamaicans for Paris Diamond League

2016 double Olympic sprint champion Elaine Thompson leads a list of eight Jamaicans down to compete at the Paris Diamond League Meet on Saturday. Thompson will line up in the 100 metres with compatriots Jonielle Smith and Natalliah Whyte. The Jamaicans could face strong challenges from Dutch woman Dafne Schippers and Marie Josee Ta Lou of the Ivory Coast.

Stephenie-Ann McPherson will be the lone Jamaican competitor in  the women's 400 metres. Pan Am Games gold medallist Natoya Goule will look to go better than her 6th place finish at last week's Birmingham Diamond League when she goes in the 800 metres. Meanwhile, Commonwealth gold medallist Ronald Levy will contest the men's 110 metre hurdles.

In the field, Commonwealth gold and silver medallists Kimberly Williams and Shanieka Ricketts are down to take part in the women's triple jump. The meet commences at 11:00 am Jamaica time.
