UWI Mona got their 2018 JAVA Premier League men's volleyball campaign off to a winning start with a 3-1 win over many time champions Venus. UWI Mona took the first two sets 25-15 and 25-16 before losing the third 27-29. But, the students made no mistake in the fourth winning 25-20.
GC Foster College were also winners on the opening day, defeating Caribbean Maritime University 3-0 with scores of 25-7, 25-18, 25-9.
