JA women to vie for 5th place in regional Volleyball Champs
The title hopes of Jamaica’s female volleyball team ended Friday with a 3-2 defeat by the US Virgin Islands at the Caribbean Volleyball Championships in Suriname.
The Jamaican team lost 25-20, 25-27, 14-25, 27-25, 10-15 and will now contest the fifth place playoff on Saturday.
The men had a hard fought 3-1 win over host Suriname Thursday night to book their spot in the quarter-finals.
The Jamaican men came from behind to win 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 to finish second in their group and will now play Guadeloupe Friday evening.
