Weather brings early close to day two of 2nd test between West Indies and South Africa

After a difficult first day for the West Indies bowlers, the weather gave them almost a full day off on day two of the 2nd test match against South Africa at Port Elizabeth.

Only six overs were possible on the day, but in that time, the Windies managed to pick up a third wicket, that of Faf du Plessis, off the second delivery of the day, for  103.

Fortunately for du Plessis, he had just managed to effectively get bat on ball for four runs off the first ball of the day from Jerome Taylor to move off the dreaded 99 he was on, overnight.

The following five overs were somewhat challenging for the batsmen - Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers, facing Taylor and Jason Holder, in difficult conditions, favourable for swing bowling. But, weather permitting, when they resume on day three, South Africa will still be in the dominant position, at 289/3.

Already there have been two century makers for South Africa in the match - du Plessis and Dean Elgar, who scored 121 on the first day.

South Africa easily won the first test match within four days.
