WI continues to dominate Bangladesh

Shiv Chanderpaul continued his amazing run of form as West Indies continued to dominate Bangladesh after three days of the 2nd Dhaka Bank – the 500th in West Indies Test history.

The home side reached 208-4 in the second innings at Beausejour Cricket Ground on Monday – an overall lead of 427 runs with six wickets in hand and two days to play.

The 40-year-old playing his 158th Test match, closed the day on 63 not out off 98 balls with five boundaries. Chanderpaul’s knock follows scores of 85 not out in the first Dhaka Bank Test in St Vincent and 84 not out in the first innings of this match.

Chanderpaul has so far added 108 runs for the first wicket with Jermaine Blackwood, who will resume on Tuesday on 43 not out.  Chanderpaul has now made 586 runs (average 586.00) in the last four Tests against Bangladesh. In the past two years his Test average against all opponents is over 90 runs per innings.

Earlier in the day West Indies openers Kraigg Brathwaite (45) and Leon Johnson (41) then put on 76 after Bangladesh were bowled out for 161.
