Windies women inch closer to semis at ICC World T20

The West Indies women are now just one win away from a spot in the semi-final of the ICC World Twenty20 Championship after racking-up win number two in Group 'A' in St Lucia on Wednesday evening. The Windies turned in another good bowling performance to beat South Africa by 31 runs and go top of the group with 4 points.

The batting department once again failed to spark for the Windies as they posted just 107-7 from their 20 overs batting first. Kycia Knight 32 and Jamaica’s Natasha McLean 28, led the way with Deandra Dottin 12, being the only other batter to reach double figures. Shabnim Ismail claimed 3-12 for the South Africans.

In reply, South Africa after being 48-2, lost their remaining 8 wickets for just 28 runs to be bowled out for 76. Captain Stafanie Taylor had career-best figures of 4-12. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka 97-7, defeated Bangladesh 72 all out, by 25 runs in the group's other match.
