Young Reggae Boyz clobber Aruba to keep slim hopes alive at CONCACAF U20 Championship

Tevin Rochester, Jamaica's hat trick hero in their 7-1 win over Aruba at the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship in Florida on Thursday night, says team has not given up hope despite their now slim hopes of advancing to the qualification stage of the tournament. Rochester scored twice from the penalty spot with goals in the 52nd minute and time added.

He  also scored in the 66th minute. Jahmoi Topey in the 50th, Nicque Daley in the 70th and Ricardo McIntosh in the 84th minutes, were the other scorers. But although winning, the young Jamaicans stayed second in the group on 10 points, the same as leaders Mexico who beat Grenada 8-0 to stay ahead with a superior goal difference.

The Mexicans hold a plus 19 goal difference compared to the Jamaicans’ plus 10. Only the group winner will advance to the qualification stage of the tournament. The young Reggae Boyz will face St Martin in their final preliminary round match on Saturday while Mexico play Aruba.
