Scotia sees dip in net fee and commission income

Scotia Group Jamaica has seen a dip in one of its sources of revenue as customers seek ways to avoid banking fees.

For the nine months ended July 31, Scotia's net fee and commission income amounted to $6 billion down by $100 million.

It said this resulted from continuous customer education on alternatives to reduce fees, and the ongoing shift to online and mobile transactions which attract lower fees.
