Come next month a wider range of tax services will be available online, enabling the public to conduct Stamp Duty and Transfer Tax services online.
Communications Officer at Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ), Leighton Beckles, says this is the final phase of the Revenue Administration Information System (RAiS).
"Taxpayers will be able to do somethings like validating the stamp documents online, they will also be able to reduce the cost they would incur in actually conducting business .....what this means is that TAJ , come September 5, will be rolling out more value added services."
Beckles added that TAJ has contacted stakeholders in the legal fraternity, construction industry as well as the financial sector to ensure there is a smooth implementation of the new services.
"Among these other services will be a wider range of withholding taxes, persons will also be seeing an introduction of betting gaming and lotteries being rolled onto the system come September 5. So there is going to be a massive support structure behind that, where persons can get information ...." Beckles said.
