Another fire at Ray Ray Market

There has been another fire Ray Ray Market in downtown Kingston, this time doing extensive damage.

The early morning blaze consumed all stalls and their contents.

Superintendent Joshua Davis, in charge of operations for the Kingston & St Andrew division of the Jamaica Fire Brigade says the fire, which started sometime after one o'clock, was eventually extinguished.

He said the market was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

Three fire units and a water tanker extinguished the blaze.

There have been almost yearly fires at Ray Ray Market.

The last blaze was in January last year and at that time vendors described the fires as a burden on their pockets.
