Eight taken into custody for lottery scamming in St. James

Eight persons have been taken into custody by members of the Area One Anti-Lottery Scam Task Force as they increase operational activities in western Jamaica.
     
In a pre-dawn operation Friday morning, members of the Task Force went to Hampton in St. James, where four persons were taken into custody. A BMW X6 was also seized.
     
In a similar operation on Thursday, members of the Task Force went to a community known as Longwall in Glendevon.
     
Two men and two women, suspected to be involved in the lottery scam, were nabbed.
     
Investigators are processing the eight detainees in relation to other financial crimes.
