PAHO launches 22nd Vaccination Week in the Americas to promote immunization

The Pan American Health Organisation has launched the 22nd edition of Vaccination Week in the Americas 2024.

PAHO Director, Dr. Jarbas Barbosa, says the organisation's flagship initiative has been instrumental in providing vaccines to more than 1.15 billion people throughout the region.

During the launch, the Executive Manager of PAHO's Special Programme for Comprehensive Immunisation, Dr. Daniel Salas, presented an update on vaccination coverage, which has not yet reached pre-pandemic levels.
