Shadow Minister of Health opposed to new KPH arrangement for storage of bodies

Shadow Minister of Health & Wellness, Dr. Alfred Dawes is urging the Ministry of Health & Wellness to reassess the decision to entrust the storage of bodies from Kingston Public Hospital to a single funeral home.

Dr Dawes, responding on Tuesday to this development, said it had resulted in undue inconvenience and financial strain on grieving relatives.

Numerous individuals have taken to social media to air their concerns regarding the cancellation of contracts with funeral homes, which previously served multiple hospitals, in favour of exclusive agreements with the Spanish Town based entity.

Dr Dawes has criticised the government for what he claims is its decision to  sidestep the needs of users of the public health system.
