Westmoreland businessman charged for possession of identity information

The Westmoreland police have laid charges against a businessman, accused of being in possession of identity information of persons living abroad.
 
Odane Smith, a 32-year-old resident of Petersfield, was charged on Thursday.
 
Investigators reported that about 10:20 a.m., a police team was on operation in Savanna-la-mar when they arrested Mr. Smith.
 
A cellphone found in his possession was searched and found to contain the names, addresses and telephone numbers of persons living overseas.
 
After being questioned, Mr. Smith was charged with being in possession of identity information.
