The police in Trinidad have detained a 39-year-old suspect as they continue their investigations into the death of a four-year-old girl, who was reportedly beheaded at her home in Arouca, along the east west corridor early this morning.
The child's mother told police that she had been beaten by a man she knew and that the suspect had taken her daughter, hostage.
Police officers who went to the home made the horrific discovery.
The police have recovered two knives from the scene.
