Sports Minister Olivia Grange says a commitment has been made to the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) to invest 25 percent of the $40 million dispensation for the first part of a three year commitment.
After opting out of bidding for the upcoming T20 World Cup, the government announced that they would be investing $100 million across three years to aid the development of the game.
On Wednesday, Grange said plans are afoot to have the money paid over to the JCA. JCA president Wilford “Billy” Heaven says the organization will be making the necessary steps to incorporate more girls interested at the lower levels.
