Miller steps down as national cricket captain

Spinner Nikita Miller will not captain the Jamaica Scorpions in the upcoming regional four day tournament after stepping down as captain. Speaking on Hitz 92 FM’s Sports Grill on Wednesday, the 36 year old Miller said he would not be able to commit to the team full time and instead he will help a younger captain lead Jamaica to future success.

Despite not winning a trophy in five regional tournaments, Scorpions head coach Robert Samuels believes Miller's contribution as captain was tremendous. Samuels says he and the Chairman of Selectors Junior Bennett will appoint a captain in due course but batsman Paul Palmer Junior could get the nod due to his previous experience.
