World X1 beat Pakistan in second T20 International

Sri Lanka all-rounder Thisara Perera hit a towering six off the penultimate ball to guide the World X1 to a thrilling seven wicket win over Pakistan in the second Twenty20 International for the Independence Cup in Lahore on Wednesday.

Chasing 175 for victory, Perera blasted a whirlwind 19-ball 47 not out with five sixes, to steer the World X1 to victory at 175-3 off 19.5 overs. Perera also shared a 69 run 4th wicket partnership with Hashim Amla who
 finished not out on 72 off 55 balls as the World X1 levelled the three-match series at 1-1. Tamim Iqbal also made 28.

Pakistan had posted 174-6 after electing to bat. Babar Azam again top-scored with 45 while Ahmed Shehzad made 43 and Shoaib Malik 39. West Indies spinner Samuel Badree took 2-31 and Man-of-the-Match Perera 2-21.

The hosts had registered a 20-run win in Tuesday's first match, which marked the return of international cricket to Pakistan. The third and final match will be played on Friday also in Lahore.
