Business operators along Main Street in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth are calling for assistance in reducing the dust levels from work being done in the area.
Several operators of food establishments have said they might have to close until the problem is addressed.
One operator complained to RJR News that business has slowed despite efforts to prevent dust from entering the establishment.
Pedestrians have also complained about the dust coming from the construction of the Santa Cruz Commercial Centre.
Contractors on the site said wetting the road to reduce dust pollution has become costly and will not solve the problem due to the high volume of traffic.
