The jury in the trial of two fishermen, accused of killing three children in Portmore St Catherine, was unable to reach a verdict on Thursday in the Home Circuit Court.
The 12 member jury voted 8 to 4.
The case will have to be retried for the third time.
Rohan McCarthy and Ricardo Britton will return to court on January 30, 2015.
The two men are accused of murdering five-year-old twins Tyrique and Tyrone Henry, and three-year-old Moesha Leebegan.
The children died in a fire, after bottle bombs were thrown onto their their house in 2004.
Six other occupants escaped from the burning building.
