Bangladesh calls on ICC

The Bangladesh Cricket Board is calling on the International Cricket Council to improve its governance structure following revelations that the West Indies Cricket Board have arranged a Tri-Nation series to try and reach the 2017 Champions Trophy.

It was announced that Bangladesh had qualified for the tournament following their 2-1 series win over India, but they are now in danger of being overhauled by the West Indies or Pakistan.

Bangladesh occupy the last qualifying spot with 93 points, five ahead West Indies and 6 more than Pakistan.

The WICB disclosed on Sunday that they have arranged a Tri-Nation series involving Pakistan and Zimbabwe to try and qualify for the tournament before the cut-off date of September 30.
