Flying Jaheel Hyde grounded by mixed relay team

The 8 x 100 meter mixed relay teams featuring Jamaica's Jaheel Hyde and Shanice Cohen finished outside of the medals as the track and field section of the Youth Olympic Games ended on Tuesday in Nanjing, China.        

Hyde's team clocked 1 minute 44.77 secs for 4th place, while Cohen's team placed 8th in 1minute 54.59 secs.   

The mixed relay teams comprise male and female athletes from different countries.  

Jamaica ended the Games with four medals, three gold and a silver, all in track and field.

The country also fielded participants in swimming, beach volleyball and fencing.

The athletes will remain in the village to participate in mandatory cultural exchange programmes until their departure on Friday.
