Holy Trinity, Camperdown among winners in Manning Cup

Last season's semi-finalist Holy Trinity continued their good early season showing with a 3 -1 victory over Pembroke Hall in the ISSA /Digicel Manning Cup Competition on Friday at the Bell Chung Oval. Dillion McEnnis opened the scoring in the 11th minute for Holy Trinity before Pembroke Hall's Rakiech Mundell restored parity in first half added time.

However, coming out of the break, Thillion Lawrence netted in minute 69 and time added  time, securing the 3 points for Holy Trinity. Elsewhere, on the day, Camperdown collected maximum points after dismissing Norman Manley 2-0  at Maxfield Park. Both goals came in the second half through Shaun Daley in the 50th minute and Shaquille Bradford five minutes later. Eltham High prevailed 1-0 against Charlie Smith.

Meanwhile, defending champions Jamaica College will go in search of their first win in the 2018 schoolboy football campaign when they travel to Vauxhall on Saturday in one of 14 matches on the day.

Former champions St George's College will look to maintain winning ways as they host Cumberland while Clan Carty entertain Kingston College. 2017 beaten finalist St Andrew Technical will meet Tarrant while Penwood take on Excelsior.

 

 

2017 champions Rusea's will be in action against Hopewell in one of 35 games set to be contested in the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup on Saturday.


In other games, former champions Cornwall College will play Anchovy, last season's semi-finalist Dinthill Technical match up against Charlemont; Maggoty entertain 2016 champions

St Elizabeth Technical and Clarendon College host Kelliths High.

The Jackie Walters-coached Munro College will look for their first win against Mile Gully, Lennon will meet Thompson Town and Manchester will challege Sydney Pagon.

All matches set to kick off at 3:30pm.
