Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce for first round of sprint relays

Three-time World Championship 100m metre champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is set to run in the heats of the 4x100 metres relay as Jamaica seeks to remain on course for a 3rd gold and 12 medals in the event.

This was revealed to RJR Sports by technical leader of Jamaica 54 member team to the Beijing World Championships, Maurice Wilson on Friday.

The "Pocket Rocket" will be joined by 100m finalist and training partner Natasha Morrison, 200m finalist Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart.

Freshly minted 400m bronze medallist Shericka Jackson and 5-time finalist Novlene Williams-Mills will both be rested for the mile relay preliminary round. Christine Day, Stephenie Ann McPherson, Anastasia Le-Roy and Chris-Ann Gordon will carry the nation's hope in the heat.

The men's mile relay will consist of Peter Mathews, Ricardo Chambers, Dane Hyatt and Javon Francis.

The preliminary round of all relays are scheduled for Saturday morning in Beijing, Friday evening (August 28) Jamaica time.
