Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Jordan Forte

Team Jamaica Bickle has continued its mission of equipping schools across the island with defibrillators with the donation of the important medical device to 15 institutions recently. A defibrillator was also donated to the National Stadium. The initiative which started in 2014 and is the brainchild of not for profit organization team Team Jamaica Bickle, has so far seen close to 90 Automated External Defibrillator or AED machines donated to schools islandwide.

It was bourne out of the need for emergency medical equipment in schools following the passing of St Jago High School track and field athlete Cavahn McKenzie in February 2014. However, the organization also donated  machines to the National Stadium, which will be the first and only permanent defibrillators inside that facility.

The initiative which is supported by the Ministry of Education, Government agencies and ISSA among others, saw 15 schools and institutions benefiting from the recent donations.
