Waterhouse maintain resurgence in RSPL

Waterhouse FC's coach Donovan Duckie has described their 2-1 win over Montego Bay United at Drewsland on Sunday in the Red Stripe Premier League as critical to their push for a playoff spot. Andre McFarlane opened the scoring in the 19th minute for home side but that was cancelled out by Lesley St Fleur 10 minutes later.

Former Mo Bay United player Allan Ottey then slotted home the winner just before the hour mark for the resurgent Waterhouse. With the win, Waterhouse are fourth on 47 points, the same as third place Tivoli while Mo Bay United fell one place to 8th. Tivoli Gardens stayed 3rd after ending 1-1 with Humble Lion at the Effortville Community Centre.

Veteran Jermaine 'Teddy' Johnson gave Tivoli a 72nd minute lead before Barrington Pryce  equalized for Humble Lion in the 88th minute. Elsewhere, Harbour View moved one place up to fifth on 45 points after blanking Reno 2-0 at the Frome Sports Complex.

Hosts UWI FC moved into seventh and two points behind sixth placed Cavalier who they clipped 2-1 at the Mona Bowl while in the battle of the relegated teams, Boys’ Town got the better of Sandals South Coast 2-1.

Meanwhile, leaders Portmore United and reigning champions Arnett Gardens played out a 2-2 draw in the Monday night fixture at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex.
